Manu Wemel is a dedicated sports physiotherapist with extensive experience in the world of professional cycling. As part of the medical team at Soudal – Quick Step, one of the leading teams in professional cycling, Manu specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cycling-specific injuries. His work focuses on evidence-based approaches to athlete health, ensuring optimal performance and recovery.
In addition to his role with Soudal – Quick Step, Manu leads SQUADT, a Belgian center for sports rehabilitation and performance optimization. At SQUADT, he helps athletes achieve peak condition through targeted rehabilitation, strength training, and injury prevention programs.
Manu has delivered numerous presentations and workshops at professional conferences and training courses, sharing his expertise on cycling-related injuries and rehabilitation. His ability to translate complex medical concepts into practical strategies makes him a respected and engaging speaker. At the Science and Cycling Congress, Manu will present his insights into Prepatellar Friction Syndrome, a commonly misdiagnosed yet significant knee injury in cycling. His presentation aims to increase awareness, improve diagnostic accuracy, and foster a consensus on effective treatment strategies within the cycling community.
