PHIL BURT is Head Physiotherapist at British Cycling & Team Sky Consultant Physiotherapist.
Phil Burt has worked with British Cycling for over 8 years and was part of the dream team of support staff leading up to and during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as well as being part of the successful London 2012 Team. After working at the English Institute of Sport, Phil moved over to full time employment with British Cycling to take on the role of Lead Physiotherapist for both British Cycling and Team Sky. He also set up and ran the Team Sky Bike Fitting Team.
At British Cycling Phil is involved with marginal gains projects including saddles, the foot pedal interface and has had heavy involvement in the ‘aero team’ during this Olympic cycle with regard to rider positioning and biomechanics.
Along with UK Sport, Phil has also run one of the largest cycling injury audits ever conducted. This work was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2014.
In addition to his work with British Cycling’s World Champions & Olympians,
Phil has been part of the board of advisors for bike fitting system ‘Retul’ and lectures internationally.
Phil’s desire to share knowledge, his practical experience and high-level of skill provide many opportunities to help develop projects and enhance their performance ranging from working with individuals to overcome cycling related physical issues, providing new
perspectives on product and team development to sharing lessons from the world of high-performance sport.
